In recent years, Joan Riera Robusté tries to develop compositional strategies that relate the movement of sound in space with the perception of sound as well as to emphasize the interaction of sound with the reflections generated by architectural spaces. In 2023 he launches the project “Walls of Sound”, which consists of using architectural spaces with high reverberation to experience the so-called “diffuse sound fields”. His goal is to create a type of musical composition that could be described as contextual, i.e. linked to a specific acoustic context. In 2017, together with his colleague Christian Vogl, he founded the association auch Musik e.V., dedicated to the broadcasting of multichannel electroacoustic music in cinemas using Dolby 5.1 and 7.1 systems.
